Our facilities are carefully managed and maintained to a high standard, ensuring residents can make the most of their surroundings. Whether living independently in one of our retirement villages or receiving care in one of our care homes, residents can benefit from thoughtfully designed spaces and facilities that support well-being, enjoyment and quality of life. Some facilities are also open to the wider public, helping our communities remain connected with and contribute to the local area.

Dining & cafés
All five retirement villages, as well as our four care homes, have an on-site café or dining facility, providing welcoming spaces where residents can enjoy refreshments, meals, coffee and time with friends and family. Most of the cafés were newly opened in 2024.
Green spaces
Beautifully landscaped gardens and generous outdoor spaces are an important part of life at St Monica Trust. From extensive parkland and private gardens to rooftop gardens, residents can enjoy peaceful surroundings and plenty of opportunities to spend time outdoors.
Swimming pools
Swimming pools are available at Cote Lane, The Chocolate Quarter and Sandford Station, providing residents with opportunities to exercise, relax and support their overall well-being.
Gym & fitness
Fitness facilities and activities are available across our sites, with trained instructors on hand to provide guidance, encouragement and support. Residents can take part in activities designed to help them remain active and enjoy exercise at their own pace.
Active social calendar
There is always something happening at our villages and care homes. Alongside activities outside the village, our well-being coordinators at each site make the most of our excellent facilities, amenities and communal spaces to organise a varied programme of activities and events, from fitness and creative activities to social gatherings and entertainment.

Depending on the village, facilities may also include barber shops, hair and beauty salons, arts and crafts rooms, libraries, residents' lounges, cinemas, saunas, croquet lawns and indoor bowling facilities.
Dining & cafés
Dining and cafés are an important part of life at St Monica Trust, providing welcoming spaces for residents to connect, socialise and enjoy good food and drink with friends and family.
Among our cafés and dining venues, Pullman Café, B Block Café, Somer Dining and Cricketers Café are also open to the wider community. They provide not only a welcoming space for residents to relax and enjoy good food, but also a place for visitors and local people to stop, rest and recharge while enjoying something to eat or drink.
Menus offer a variety of hot meals and light bites, alongside freshly prepared barista coffee. Depending on the café, options may include ciabattas, paninis, sandwiches, cakes and pastries, salads, quiche, sausage rolls and jacket potatoes, as well as hot and cold drinks and daily specials.

Green spaces are a defining feature of St Monica Trust retirement villages and care homes, providing residents with attractive places to relax, walk, socialise and enjoy nature.
- Westbury Fields & John Wills House - with a cricket pitch at its heart, surrounded by attractive outdoor spaces.
- Cote Lane & Garden House - set within 12 acres of beautiful private gardens and extensive parkland, giving residents plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors.
- Sandford Station & Russets and Sherwood - set within 12 acres of beautiful North Somerset countryside.
- The Chocolate Quarter & Charterhouse - offer peaceful outdoor areas, plenty of green spaces, and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It also features rooftop gardens, providing residents with lovely spaces to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
- Monica Wills House - features rooftop gardens, providing residents with attractive outdoor spaces to enjoy.
Our dedicated gardening teams care for the outdoor spaces across several of our sites, including The Chocolate Quarter, Sandford Station, Westbury Fields and Cote Lane.
The gardening team takes great pride in maintaining the parkland, flowerbeds, gardens and other outdoor areas, ensuring they remain beautiful and welcoming throughout the year.
Swimming pools
Swimming pools are available at Cote Lane & Garden House, The Chocolate Quarter & Charterhouse, Sandford Station & Russets and Sherwood, giving residents an enjoyable way to stay active and support their well-being.
The pools can also play an important role in physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Our therapy teams use a range of creative approaches, including activities in the swimming pool, to make therapy engaging and enjoyable.
The focus is not simply on exercise. It is about helping residents regain mobility and confidence, maintain their independence and enjoy the positive impact that physical activity can have on their well-being.
Gym & fitness
Staying active is an important part of healthy ageing, and residents can access fitness facilities and activities across St Monica Trust.
Trained instructors are available to provide guidance and support, helping residents take part in exercise and fitness activities that are suited to their abilities and interests, with the aim of enhancing mobility, maintaining independence and supporting overall well-being.
The gyms can also play an important role in physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Physiotherapy may include a variety of activities, from supporting residents in the gym to developing creative exercises that make therapy more enjoyable. The aim is to help residents regain confidence and mobility while making the experience positive and engaging.
