5% pay rise for all St Monica Trust colleagues

The St Monica trust has announced that all colleagues will be awarded a minimum 5% increase to their basic pay on 1 April 2023.

Many colleagues who work in the Trust’s care homes will see their pay rates increase by 7%, while colleagues currently paid the National Living Wage will receive a slightly higher than 5% increase to ensure they earn the new National Living Wage of £10.42 per hour.

The Trust’s Chief Executive, David Williams said: “I am pleased that we have been able to match, and for many colleagues beat, the NHS pay settlement that has recently been announced.

“This significant pay rise will help maintain the Trust’s place as leaders in the care sector, both in terms of pay and reflecting how much we value our colleagues’ contribution to creating communities where older people can flourish.

“Not only is the pay rise great news for all colleagues at a time of rising living costs, but it will also help ensure that we continue to recruit and retain the calibre of staff needed to provide the high-quality accommodation and care that the Trust is known for.”

The Bristol-based charity operates four care homes and five retirement villages across Bristol, BANES and North Somerset, employing more than 1,200 people.
