Life at John Wills House
Grow your own vegetables for the kitchen, support a charity in a Bake Off competition, enjoy a talk on photography or teach staff a thing or two in our Knit and Natter group. We tailor our activities programme so you can decide what you do and loved ones are welcome to join in too. We know that every day is different and our dedicated staff are on hand to respond to whatever you need.
Types of Care
The St Monica Trust is nationally recognised for its high-quality personalised care which combines a range of care options that are built around your individual needs. That way we make sure that you’re looked after and any requirements that you or a family member may have are dealt with personally.
- Nursing care
Within the Willows our dedicated and capable team provides 24-hour general needs nursing to ensure you get the best out of life every day. Over the years, we’ve learned how to work with people and their families to create care plans that thoughtfully balance support alongside independent living. That way you maintain the freedom to make your own choices.
- Residential dementia care
We believe that a key part of creating sensitive and pleasant environments for people who are living with dementia is the quality of the relationships that we build. The Orchards’ flexible approach to care is focused on reducing anxieties and encouraging the capabilities of each individual resident, so that there’s purpose and meaning to every day.
- Respite and short-term care
Some people come to us for short periods of between one week and up to six weeks. Rooms in The Beeches can be booked in advance like in a hotel, so you get to choose when you’d like to check in and check out. We take care of you from the moment you arrive and our specialist team of healthcare providers are there to help with whatever you need.
- Rehabilitation and reablement
After a spell in hospital we offer space for recovery and recuperation, creating restorative care plans based on your needs. With the expertise of our team of health professionals you can get back to your best as quickly as possible.
- End of life care
Working with you and your loved ones, we’re there to provide relief and support for as long as you need us. We’re nationally recognised for our award-winning palliative and end of life care, which sensitively encompasses all aspects of your physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. Our focus is on ensuring that pain is well-managed and that your personal wishes are respected at all times.
Experience spacious, modern en-suite rooms designed with your complete comfort in mind. On the ground floor you’ll find easy access to lovely outdoor areas. Our dementia wing, The Orchards, has been especially designed to provide visual cues that encourage confidence and reduce anxiety. All our rooms are beautifully furnished and you can bring in personal belongings, so it really feels like home.
- In-room dining
- Profiling beds
Invite relatives for a delicious meal at The Cricketers or enjoy a daily walk around the cricket pitch at Westbury Fields retirement village. My mother has lived at the Orchards for just over two years, during which time her care needs have changed considerably…The staff are wonderful - caring, kind, patient and responsive to her needs. They make great effort to get to know and understand in order to treat her as an individual. They are also alert to the needs of the family…we are always made to feel welcome and are well looked after while we there.
