We think the world of our colleagues. And watching them develop and flourish here at the St Monica Trust is really terrific. Whatever career goals you have, our training and development team could help you achieve them!

With our well-established training and development team you can relax knowing your career is in the best hands. They offer induction courses for new starters, mandatory update training, clinical and non-clinical skills training and will arrange ad hoc courses subject to your needs.

Perhaps you’ve set your heart on a role but don’t quite have enough experience. That’s not a problem for us. If we can see the drive and potential then we’ll offer you all the training, development and support you need to get you where you need to be.

This could be through:

  • A full and comprehensive induction to the organisation, the workplace and your role within it.
  • Regular performance management, support and an annual review from your manager.
  • Identifying your job-related training/development needs and being given the opportunity to participate in courses or learning on a regular basis.
  • The Trust offering a comprehensive in-house training programme, which includes our own approved assessment center.

Our training and development team is nationally recognised as a high quality provider of health and social care training and assessment, offering training in the sector across the South West of England.

They’re award-winning too, providing support for all levels of qualifications, which helps learners gather the knowledge needed for each unit. Their assessment practices focus on using both work-based evidence and demonstration of knowledge and skills. It’s a process which we believe helps colleagues meet and regularly go far beyond national standards.

We’ll also keep you in the loop by issuing you with an annual training calendar. This way you can see what training and development opportunities are available to you.

The training and development team also arrange work experience placements and apprenticeships.  Visit the section under roles and departments to find out more.
