Knowle West Health Park
We are thrilled to announce further funding to Knowle West Health Park to support their community development work. In response, Knowle West Health Park said, “That’s amazing news and thanks so much to all of you for having confidence in the work we have been doing. This means we can plan with confidence and have time to work towards sustainable activities.”
As part of this initiative, a course of Circus Skills workshops was hosted. Ten participants, ranging in age from their late fifties to eighties, enjoyed eight engaging sessions led by Circomedia and supported by Community Development Workers. They had a blast learning tricks with hula hoops, juggling, diabolo, flower sticks, and plate spinning, among other activities!
These workshops not only provided fun but also supported well-being and social connection. They encouraged participants to be more active, regardless of their mobility levels, and as a by-product of having fun.
The workshops were a huge success, sparking much interest and even catching the attention of Points West! Watch the coverage here.
Below are some quotes from participants illustrating the value of the workshops.
Following the success of these workshops, Knowle West Healthy Living Centre has continued offering these sessions this year, making this an ongoing sustainable activity.
