Grant giving
Supporting the lives of older people in Bristol and the surrounding area has been part of the vision for St Monica Trust since it began 100 years ago.
Our Charitable Giving team helps tackle a variety of issues by distributing hundreds of thousands of pounds to individuals, organisations, and communities across Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Bath & North-East Somerset to improve the lives of older people in the region, through joint projects and funding for organisations or individuals.
We provide gifts and grants that go directly to those who will benefit the most and we are committed to helping more people by increasing our giving over the next few years.

Funding for Individuals
Our aim is to help older people live independently in their own community for as long as possible. We do this by helping with items that they need, or by supporting them through a financial crisis with the help of our Individual Giving Fund.
We help in two ways: by providing gifts and/or offering short-term grants of monthly financial support to help people through a crisis. Whichever way we help, it will not affect benefits, tax credits, or tax.

Organisational Giving
We work with organisations across Bristol, Bath and North-East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset to improve facilities and opportunities for older people by funding projects within their communities.
We aim to develop relationships with organisations at a local level, particularly around our villages, to find opportunities to collaborate to maximise our impact.
We deliver different types of grant programmes but our core funding principle is the focus on improving the quality of life of older people in the region.
