Within the St Monica Trust there are many teams that support our care services. Although they’re not on the front line so to speak, they deliver invaluable support. Without them, we honestly couldn’t function as an organisation. They’re often the unsung heroes. Would you like to join them?
In our care homes, administrators carry out day-to-day transactions and duties, providing vital support for our managers, carers and other frontline colleagues.
Meanwhile over at head office, there are other departments, including some facilities and estates colleagues, health and safety, finance, HR, IT, sales, marketing and communications, training and development, and the community fund team.
Community fund team
The community fund is a pot of money given to carefully selected older people in the community with disabilities or long-term ill health. The money goes towards things like mobility aids, making adjustments to homes, or simply helping out with bills or debts. As part of the community fund team, you’d process applications and make sure the money goes where it’s needed the most.
Estates and facilities team
The estates and facilities team in our head office, on the other hand, offers support for our estates workers, catering and housekeeping teams across all our sites. They manage the distribution of work, resolve any issues that come to light and take care of the administration side of running the estates team. This allows the estate workers and others to do what they do best out and about on-site.
Health and safety team
Naturally, health and safety is important to both our residents and our colleagues. As part of our health and safety team you’ll need to ensure that you’re up to speed with legislation and you act to prevent accidents from occurring. You’d also be expected to handle all reported health and safety incidents.
The finance team look after all aspects of finances across the Trust. We have a busy in-house payroll team to manage the payment of salaries and benefits to employees. There are also separate teams of qualified accountants and finance experts who look after and process the finances of the residents, clients and the Trust.
We know that happy colleagues deliver the best care. That’s why the HR department is worth its weight in gold. You’ll be there to support managers to keep morale high and absence levels low. You’ll also have a hand in the recruitment process for the Trust. Placing adverts, assisting with recruitment days, sending offers of employment and then taking the prospective employee through a rigorous screening process to ensure that they are suitable to work here.
We’re a forward-thinking innovative organisation. So we like to keep up to date with the technological world to support our activities day to day. Being part of our IT team means you’ll manage the introduction of several electronic systems across our sites. Once they’re up and running, you’ll offer ongoing support to all colleagues and some residents when needed. All this is in addition to ensuring the smooth running of all the usual IT systems and infrastructure.
Sales, marketing and communications team
The sales, marketing and communications team are responsible for meeting occupancy targets and manage the sales, re-sales and letting process for our accommodation and care home places, generating important revenue for the Trust. They also oversee web and digital communications and PR as well as handling content, print media and advertising.
Training and development team
Every colleague likes to know they can develop and grow with us at the Trust. Our training and development team delivers a comprehensive induction for all new starters. They’ll then continue to monitor the training needs of our colleagues to make sure that they meet both the mandatory training requirements and the ad hoc training required in their role.
There are many other teams who support the St Monica Trust, too many to mention! Often in the background, but always greatly appreciated and respected.
