Here comes the sun
A new dawn is set to rise at The Chocolate Quarter in Keynsham with a unique art installation marking the grand opening of the development on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 April.
A vast sun will glow between the iconic red-brick buildings, radiating warmth, light and sound for a sensory exploration that the public are invited to discover and walk beneath.
The installation will be 7 metres high and 6 metres wide, creating an impressive, interactive experience for all the family.
Created by production company Vivid Design Works, the sun installation is the latest project for the innovative designers who have constructed environments for large scale events, famous TV and film sets and architectural interiors.
Entertainment for all the family
The weekend will mark the Grand Opening of the new £60 million development by Bristol-based charity St Monica Trust.
The Chocolate Quarter offers luxury retirement living for a new generation of retirees, with communal facilities built not just for the people living there, but also people from Keynsham and the surrounding area.
A packed programme of free entertainment will also be available to visitors, including a Vintage Gramophone DJ, eye-catching rainbow light installations, fun films in the on-site cinema and live music and dance.
Activities will run from 12pm-8pm on Saturday 14 April, and 12pm-6pm on Sunday 15 April, and visitors will have the opportunity to take guided tours of this fantastic new community.
Next to the River Avon and within a short five minute walk to the centre of Keynsham, The Chocolate Quarter offers both town and country living.
With incredible country views, apartments feature balconies, gardens and terraces as well as access to communal rooftop gardens.
The intergenerational development is gaining national interest as it combines luxury retirement living with a range of facilities which are open to the public, including a pizzeria, restaurant, health spa, cinema, hairdressers and nail bar.
