Why did you join St Monica Trust?

I joined St Monica Trust in 2009. I was at college and really wanted some weekend work at the time. I heard how good the Trust was due to a relative working at St Monica Trust.

What do you get up to on a typical day?

Giving care and companionship to customers, reviewing customer care needs, taking on and assessing new customers and working alongside great staff.

What is the best or most rewarding thing about your role?

Seeing the outcome of each care visit, putting a smile on customer faces, meeting the needs for each of our customers on a daily basis and working with a great team.

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?

Learning new processes was a big challenge. Being promoted through the service meant I had to understand adapting my ways towards my colleagues I worked with as a care worker, as I am now a senior.

What's it really like to work here?

Lovely, I really do enjoy my job. I look forward to coming to work. I work alongside a brilliant team and everyone at the Trust works hard and is lovely.

Tell us about the training and development...

Mandatory update training days are extremely helpful to get an update/refresher on the sort of things you do on a daily basis. St Monica Trust offer a lot of training for all staff.

What's been your biggest achievement?

My biggest achievement is how far I have come within St Monica Trust. I have recently been made a Senior for Care at Home. I didn’t believe I could come this far.

What do you think makes someone successful at St Monica Trust?

How far people like to progress and personal development in the areas of work they work in. Communication between people and the team you work in.

What would you say to someone thinking of applying?

The company is good as a whole and they always look out for staff and encourage people to progress within the Trust. Also, the benefits St Monica Trust have and the pay is excellent.
