Why did you join St Monica Trust?

I wanted a job that would be challenging and rewarding at the same time, where I could make the residents happy and continue to improve standards. It’s great to be able to make the residents happy and achieve what is set.

What do you get up to on a typical day?

As a senior I inform colleagues of their work schedules, carry out a stock take, administer timesheets and holiday forms and complete room inspections.

What is the best or most rewarding thing about your role?

Variety. There is so much to do, which is a nice challenge. Being able to achieve tasks is great. I also enjoy talking to the residents.

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?

A lot to learn in a short period of time, however I get great support from my manager and the rest of my team.

What's it really like to work here?

Challenging and tough at times but very rewarding.

The training is of a high standard. All training is available to help make your job easier and know the best way to achieve tasks.

What's been your biggest achievement?

Completing the Train the Trainer accredited course, which involved having to do a presentation and building the confidence to achieve and pass.

Passion, commitment, team morale and having a good team supporting you.

What would you say to someone thinking of applying?

It’s a great environment with friendly and helpful colleagues. It can be a challenge at times, but it’s always rewarding when you achieve your tasks and targets. The residents make you smile and like to have a chat, giving you the very reason and a reminder of why you chose to work with the Trust.
