Types of Care

The St Monica Trust is nationally recognised for its high-quality personalised care which combines a range of care options that are built around your individual needs.

Nursing care

Our dedicated and capable team provides 24-hour general needs nursing to ensure you get the best out of life every day. Over the years, we’ve learned how to work with people and their families to create care plans that thoughtfully balance support alongside independent living. That way you maintain the freedom to make your own choices.

Residential and nursing dementia care

We believe that a key part of creating sensitive and pleasant environments for people who are living with dementia is the quality of the relationships that we build. The Sundials’ flexible approach to care is focused on reducing anxieties and encouraging the capabilities of each individual resident so that there’s purpose and meaning to every day.

Rehabilitation and reablement

After a spell in hospital we offer space for recovery and recuperation, creating restorative care plans based on your needs. With the expertise of our team of health professionals you can get back to your best as quickly as possible.

End of life care

Working with you and your loved ones, we’re there to provide relief and support for as long as you need us. We’re nationally recognised for our award-winning palliative and end of life care, which sensitively encompasses all aspects of your physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. Our focus is on ensuring that pain is well-managed and that your personal wishes are respected at all times.

Therapy team

Every St Monica Trust care home has a dedicated therapy team on-site, so they can work proactively with residents and respond quickly whenever their skills are required - enhancing our residents' mobility, independence and well-being.

This service is available free to all our care home residents. Unlike other care providers, there are no additional charges for physiotherapy and occupational therapy at St Monica Trust. Download the guide to our therapy team.

The Sundials at Garden House is an amazing place. The staff are very caring and committed to the residents they look after. They work well as a team and nothing is too much trouble. My father in law is always clean, tidy, well fed and comfortable and able to socialise. It is an excellent facility, I'm sure the best of its kind to be found anywhere. Food is great as is care, safety and the way the staff treat the residents with love, compassion, humour and laughter.
