Accommodation
St Monica Trust is nationally recognised for the high quality sheltered accommodation we provide in our Bristol and North Somerset-based retirement villages. Whether it's occupying your own retirement home or living within our nursing care homes, the Trust offers a range of sheltered housing that enable residents to live as independently as they wish.
Independent sheltered accommodation
Residents occupy a variety of well-appointed properties within the Trust's independent sheltered accommodation, which are available on a range of tenures. We have retirement homes for sale through our lease purchase scheme, which enables individuals to buy a lifetime lease or on a part rent, part buy option.
The Trust is currently in the unusual position of being able to offer a small number of retirement homes for sale to people on a first-come, first-served basis outside of our usual resales procedure. If you are interested in viewing any of these properties, please call us on 0117 949 4004 to book an appointment.
Depending on location, we also have a selection of retirement homes for rent, either privately or through the Trust’s partnerships with Bristol City Council and North Somerset Council.
All our retirement homes, which include a range of care and support services, are designed to accommodate the issues that are familiar to many older people:
- Wet-room bathrooms provide level access to the shower.
- Sockets and light switches are placed at waist height to prevent the need for unnecessary bending.
- Ovens are built into our kitchens at eye level.
- Access from outside the property is as level as possible.
Many of these simple features of the design can make all the difference to someone's ability to maintain their independence for longer within the privacy of their own home.
The majority of our flats and houses also have their own designated outdoor space - be it a balcony, a small patio or a much larger garden.
Nursing care homes
Our nursing care homes provide for a variety of needs within three of our retirement villages in Bristol and North Somerset. All of our nursing care homes are designed to provide residents with their own private bedroom and bathroom with shared living spaces for eating, activity, and socialisation.
Externally, there are beautifully landscaped gardens and grounds, which residents can enjoy. In some of our care homes, direct access from individuals' rooms via a patio door makes it even easier to go outdoors and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine.
All of our nursing and dementia care homes have been designed from the ground up to cater for the range of specialist services we offer to residents. These include overhead hoists in our general needs nursing beds and the careful planning of overall layout to help those who are living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia find their way more easily.
Why not come and see for yourself?
