Nursing care

St Monica Trust’s nursing care homes provide care and companionship for residents in a comfortable environment. Located at the heart of our retirement village communities, our nursing care homes support older people to live independently for as long as possible.

Care

We have three nursing care homes for older people located across Bristol and North Somerset. The Willows at Westbury Fields and The Garden House at Cote Lane, are both located in Westbury-on-Trym. While Sherwood, the most recent addition to the Trust’s nursing care provision, is at Sandford Station in the village of Sandford, North Somerset.

At the heart of all the Trust’s care provision are teams of specialist and dedicated staff. Far more than simply providing expert and personalised clinical care, their role is to promote respect and dignity for all care home residents.

Comfort

All St Monica Trust’s nursing homes are designed to a high specification and offer the best quality care. This includes an overhead hoist system, generous en-suite bedroom accommodation and communal living and dining room areas.

Each nursing care home has on-site physiotherapy support, with chiropody, reflexology and hairdressing also available.

A wide choice of nutritious and well-balanced meals are available. In between mealtimes residents can relax in their rooms, sit outside in the gardens or take part in the wide range of activities on offer to all village residents.

Companionship

Activity and engagement are encouraged and supported, through involvement in groups, regular events and entertainment. There are many opportunities for social engagement in all our nursing care homes and through regular outings.

As well as enjoying freshly prepared meals in their own dining rooms, residents, family and friends can dine together in the licensed restaurant at all of our retirement villages.

Inspected by the Care Quality Commission

All St Monica Trust’s services and facilities are regularly inspected by the Care Quality Commission (www.cqc.org.uk). The CQC's latest inspection reports on all of the Trust's nursing care homes are available to view online.
