Training & Development Opportunities

The Trust recognises the essential role played by staff in the delivery of high quality services. Consequently, Staff Training and Development forms a significant part of the Charity's day-today operations.

Training Opportunities
The St. Monica Trust has developed a range of courses covering a host of different aspects related to the provision of care services. With the additional benefit of continuing professional development for every member of staff from Induction, through to Foundation and Management Training, all the materials offered in the delivery of the courses respond to the most up-to-date issues identified in the government's latest training, qualification and registration requirements. All courses are specifically designed to meet the standards required by the National Care Standards Commission and TOPSS (Training Organisation for Personal and Social Services). Furthermore, many of our courses also provide supporting knowledge for NVQ units at all levels.

Courses are available to external agencies; independent and private care homes, and day care establishments. All our Trainers have the necessary experience and/or qualifications to provide first-rate training that is directly relevant for people who work in a care environment. From Manual Handling and First Aid to personal and professional skills, the programme of courses offered by the Trust provides for all aspects and levels of ability. It is also possible for the Training to be brought to your employees in their own workplace, so that courses can be specifically tailored to meet the needs of your own organisation.

Value for money
Training in your own workplace costs from £150 for a half day and £250 for a full day. Places on day courses at the St. Monica Trust Training Facility, Cote Lane, Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol start at £40 (including lunch, handouts and certificates) and there are discounts for group/multiple bookings.

How do I apply?
You can fill in the on-line application form or call us for a copy to be sent to you by post. Once we receive your application, course attendance will be confirmed in writing and your organisation invoiced for the cost of the training, which should be paid prior to the course taking place.
